Stella Damasus Is Back In New Film, ‘Between’

Stella Damasus is making a grand return to her acting career in a brand new feature film, Between. The actress last featured in the multi award-winning Robert Peters movie, Affairs of the Heart, a 2015 film which also featured Nigerian actors, Joseph Benjamin and Beverly Naya. Before her hiatus, she was one of the most popular actresses in Nollywood.

The Movie

Between, written and directed by Daniel Ademinokan, is set in Atlanta and has Stella playing the feisty, daring, energetic, feminist, Chelsea Hollis, a successful woman in her mid-thirties who has suffered four divorces. A workaholic by day and a party freak at night. She helps couples with their relationships but has given up on love herself. She ultimately has become a hardline feminist, believing that women should rein in their emotions and live care-free. One of such escapades brings her in contact with Scott Hamilton and this changes her perception of love, but she soon finds out that there is more to him than she expected. Between stars Stella Damasus, alongside Travis Grenier, Erin E. Feest, Tatiana Zappardino and Lynne Jenson. It is scheduled to premiere on the 7th of October, at the GlennFest Film Festival 2018 in Downey, California.

Stella Damascus is a theatre arts graduate of the University of Lagos, Nigeria who began her career as a singer at the Klink Studios in Lagos. She worked on radio and TV jingles before taking a role in the 1992 film Abused. She became a household name after featuring in Breaking Point, a 1992 Francis Agu film, and has since starred in over seventy movies. She won the Nigerian Entertainment Award’s Best Actress Award in 2007, was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2009 at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and won Best Actress Award at the Golden Icons Academy Awards in Houston, Texas for the movie, Two Brides and a Baby. Between is her latest movie.
