You can get this knowledge simply by signing up for marketing and communications courses online. Learn as much as you can and don’t stop reinventing yourself.

If you don’t have a niche in mind, then you should do your research and find things that you already gravitate towards. Try working with different clients until you find what you like and are comfortable with. 

You should also Google up companies that need social media management services. From real estate companies to travel agencies and entertainment platforms, there are so many options to choose from so take your time to go for the right choice.

Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Social Media Channels 

No matter what job you do at the moment, you can always find something related to start building your social media profile. Work with the different social media channels to understand how they work and how to make the best use of each of them. As you do this, you may find out that constructing a tweet is quite different posting on Instagram and vice versa. Once you choose a social media channel, learn what drives engagement on this channel and how you can leverage on that.

Learn The Basics Of Graphic Design 

It is not compulsory to have graphic design skills for the position of a social media manager but it is definitely an added advantage. Graphics are now a big factor for influencing social media engagement more than ever before. Adopt tools such as Canva and Buffer which can be used across all social media and can elevate the creative side of your brand’s personality.
