Diva Cakes is one of the bigger names in the bakery business. With several centres spread throughout Lagos, they’re developing a chain of baking enterprises that offer top-notch cakes to Lagosians and Nigerians in general. The company makes and sells an assortment of cakes for a range of occasions, including weddings, corporate events, birthdays, Valentine’s Day celebrations, and more. The bakes vary as well; they offer everything from dessert and fondant cakes to cupcakes and other fine edibles. Founded by Genia Okafor in 2005, Diva Cakes had its first store in Ikeja. Over the years, it’s set up branches in other parts of Lagos. Today, there are seven such outlets in the state. There’s also one in Port Harcourt. Diva Cakes stocks both ready-to-pick-up and made-to-order bakes. Their menu is diverse—they provide red velvet, cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, ice cream cakes, and buttercream cakes, among others. Cakes are available in different flavours, including butterscotch, banana, coconut, Irish cream, and strawberry.

The Diva Cakes brand has special products to its name, such as Diva Mix, Diva Cream, brown bubble double delight, and chocolate magic. Besides cakes, they also make desserts, hot bread, cookies, and Chin Chin. These products may be purchased at the Diva Cakes stores or ordered online. Customers can either buy a predesigned cake, or specify what they’d like the design, shape, colour, and content of their cakes to be. All stores are open from Mondays to Saturdays, so customers can make their purchases on these days. Cakes from these stores may be bought for as low as ₦5,000. Prices vary, but there’s something that’ll fit into most customers’ budgets. The demand for sweet treats isn’t falling anytime soon.
