Skrife Launches to Provide Online Content for Entrepreneurs and Startups

Businesses with an online presence often find it difficult to populate their sites with content. And when they manage to, it’s not always engaging enough. Because writing attention-grabbing pieces isn’t an ability that too many people possess- entrepreneurs who need content may simply not be cut out to type articles that make sense to readers.

In 2015, Kelechi Udoagwu and Tope Agunbiade founded Skrife, a platform which assembles a community of freelance writers and editors and links them with startups, brands and entrepreneurs willing to pay for their services.  The two women met at the Meltwater School of Entrepreneurial Technology (MEST), where they found that they shared similar interests- they loved well-written pieces and had a passion for startups. Their interactions yielded an idea- they identified a gap in Nigeria’s content market and decided to create Skrife in order to help fill it. After going under a pre-accelerator program where it got funding, the platform has now launched formally.

Skrife provides startups and entrepreneurs with a remote team of writers and editors to assist them in the management of their online content. They simply have to give a short description of the job; they’ll have a writer and editor assigned for the specific kind of content required, and get a draft in three days. They can get two free revisions as well, to shape the work into the form they want it to take. Kelechi sums up the platform’s task with these words: “You think it and we write it.”

Writers can also become part of Skrife’s community of content creators by signing up on their website.
