Samsung is the biggest mobile brand of 2012, having the highest unit of device sales globally — according to an intelligence firm that tracks mobile handset sales, IHS iSuppli. They have a report that projects the fourth quarter of this year and what results will look like. It submitted in its report that, “Mobile handset revenue is expected to reach $238.8 billion in 2012 and ship 1.7 million units. By the end of 2012, the number of subscribers worldwide is projected to reach 6.58 billion, an increase of 8.9% from 6.04 billion subscribers at the end of 2011. Much of this subscriber growth come from additions in India and South Asia, Africa and China. As with the last few years, the big profit area continues to be smartphones.”
In its preliminary forecast (ranking by global unit shipments), it compares Samsung with other mobile phone manufacturers, for 2011 against 2012.
