Glo has launched a new mobile newspaper for subscribers, to provide them with an update of events and happenings in Nigeria and around the world at a subscription fee of N50 per week. Glo, in a statement said, “We are glad to announce to our esteemed subscribers the birth of Glo-Mpaper, a service that supplies news from local and international newspapers to subscribers over SMS and WAP (Wireless Application Protocol). The beauty of this service from our stable is that beyond the immediacy of delivering the news items as they break, users can subscribe to at least three different newspapers. “Accessing the service is easy and users could change their newspaper category as many times as they wish free-of-charge, just as the service would be opened to any brand or model of handset. All a subscriber needs to do to access the service is to have a basic handset with Globacom connection. As soon as the pre-paid customer confirms his subscription, the relevant charge will be automatically deducted from the current balance, while a post-paid customer will have the charges added to his or her monthly bill.”
