Nollywood Actress, Genevieve Nnaji, ‘Goes Green’; Signs Endorsement Deal as Etisalat’s New Ambassador

One of Nollywood’s finest, Genevieve Nnaji has joined the league of stars basking in the festival of endorsement deals by telecommunication firms in Nigeria. A week hardly goes by without the announcement of a celebrity as a brand ambassador to any of the four major GSM telcos in the country. Genevieve Nnaji is the latest star out of Nigeria’s entertainment industry to be hooked by Etisalat, one of the four companies (the others being MTN, Globacom, and Airtel). Genevieve posted an Instagram photograph of herself and Nigerian-British actor, Hakeem Kae Kazeem with the caption: “#etisalat #goinggreen”.

Etisalat confirmed the information a few minutes afterwards with a short statement:

We officially welcome @GenevieveNnaji1 as an Etisalat Ambassador for the #Easyflex. We do quality not quantity.

As is usually the case with many of these endorsements, there was no express statement on how much the deal was worth. All insiders could say was that Genevieve’s bank account has become fatter. Genevieve is expected to appear alongside Hakeem Kae Kazim in some of the brand’s ad campaigns. A television commercial is expected to pop up on screens any time soon. The star actress joins the likes of Ice Prince, Olamide, Sasha, and Seyi Shay on the Etisalat team of ambassadors.
