The word “Job Security” is a myth and virtually impossible. In the 20th century, evidence has shown this truth; with the coming of the economic crisis, more people are losing their jobs every day and governments are losing face in the struggle. However the fading away of job security started years back.
Do you know that in heaven, there is no job security? If you don’t believe it or you think I am lying then ask Lucifer and the dark angels who lost their jobs in heaven. Lucifer was attested to as being the greatest in his job.
History states that he had the whole world clamouring for him because of his gift and talent. He had a nice pay check, lived in a glorious home and had everything you would ever dream of (glory, fame, prestige). However, we all know the end of the story; he felt proud that no one could take his place and even challenged his master which led to his downfall.
Many of us might not follow the same path as Lucifer, but the point I am trying to bring out as someone put is that “a job will never outlast the idea that created it in the first place”.
There was a time when men were needed to till a large acre of land, assemble cars in factories and travel long distances to deliver written messages but with computers, mechatronics and software, things have changed. What actually happened? It started when companies discovered that they needed to make more profit. Furthermore, research and technology were able to provide businesses with solutions that reduced overhead costs and expenses to a minimum.
Even before the economic crisis that shook the world, jobs were lost every day; the crisis only made it worse. It’s still surprising to see people still cling to job security. Most parents still advise their kids to go to school and get a good job instead of being informed or thinking outside the box. So what’s the solution?
