Iwobi who has been a prominent feature for the Carlo Ancelotti led side, grabbed his first strike in over a year after gifting the Toffees the lead in the sixth minute of the encounter. The Nigerian brilliantly finished a cool pass off the bottom corner from left-back, Lucas Digne, to hand Everton the lead. However, Ruben Neves would restore parity in the game after scoring the equalizer for Wolves in the 14th minute, but a Michael Keane 76th minute strike was all Everton needed to claim a well deserved 2-1 win away from home. Interestingly, Iwobi’s last strike in the EPL before Tuesday came against Wolves but at the Goodison Park (Everton’s home ground) on September 1, 2019. Iwobi, 24, has been tipped to impress for Everton just as the likes of ex-Nigerian internationals, Joseph Yobo, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, and Victor Anichebe, who all turned out brilliantly while putting on the blue shirt.

In a tweet, Iwobi expressed delight at getting all three points which have positioned Everton in fourth place on the English Premier League log with 32 points out of 17 games played so far in the 2020/2021 season, just four points adrift new table toppers, Manchester United.
