Microsoft Inc. is moving further towards engaging the youth of Nigeria with a new initiative tagged Open Door. Open Door will engage young computer-savvy individuals in software development to have them come up with innovative ideas for software solutions. This was revealed by the Country Manager of Microsoft Nigeria, Emmanuel Onyeje.
He said,”We are trying to help youths to use their skills to become productive and not for scamming, external fraud or hacking on people’s privacy. If you are programmer, whether you are in school or you are just leaving school, you can be self-employed by writing software applications.”
Microsoft also has a programme called Dream Pack, which enables students in tertiary institutions to develop their own software. Open Door is the latest initiative that Microsoft is using to engage Nigerian youths.
