Meet The CN BizFair Speakers: Day 2

Connect Nigeria Business Fair is not an event that prioritises one day and makes light of the next day. From the inception of #CNBizFair, Day 1 has been as good as Day 2 and Day 2 has also been as engaging as Day 1. We do not drop the bar. No day is better than the other. In fact, at the connect Nigeria Business Fair, when you snooze, you lose. It is very much imperative that you do not wink an eye or drop your concentration level because Day 2 of this year’s event promises to be exciting and mind blowing. Industry professionals will be on hand to guide you through those knotty issues that have troubled various businesses. Below is the list of Speakers:

Mabel George

Mabel George is Vice President, Business Development, at Sigma Pensions. She is in charge of the company’s growth and sales concerns. Mabel has over 20 years of experience in the pensions and banking industries. Before assuming her current position, she was the Regional Manager for Lagos at Pal Pension. In this role, she fashioned plans that drove the activities of the company’s sales and marketing teams and were key to the organization’s growth in the region. In her eleven years at Pal pension, she held various other positions: Marketing Executive, Relationship Manager, Branch Manager, and Head of Strategy. In these successive roles, Mabel was involved in strategy design and implementation and managed large teams to achieve the company’s growth objectives. Earlier in her insurance career, she was Marketing Executive at Senforce Insurance Brokers. She also had a stint as a Relationship Manager at Intercontinental Bank, a position that saw her engage with large institutional clients including major local corporations and multinationals. She has a degree in Insurance from the University of Lagos and has completed the Executive Development Program at the Columbia Business School, USA. She also has a certificate from the CFA Institute, the world’s largest association of investment professionals. Mabel will be sharing her wealth of experience at this year’s virtual edition of the Connect Nigeria Business Fair. She will be discussing the how-tos of long term planning and pensions for businesses in Nigeria’s peculiar commercial environment.   

Segun Akintemi

Segun Akintemi is CEO of Page Financials, an international financial services company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria. He has over 30 years’ experience in banking and financial services, extending to varied roles, including senior management and executive positions. For 12 years, Akintemi was General Manager at Skye Bank – a post in which he oversaw shared services for the organizations 250+ branches. He also managed much of the bank’s business in the West Africa sub-region. In that time, he supervised the bank’s growth into one of the most technologically advanced organizations in the country. In 2012, he led the team that set up Renmoney, the first new-generation consumer finance company in Nigeria. Prior to this, he was a Director at Law Union and Rock Insurance, a position in which he served for three years. Earlier in his career, Akintemi was a Systems Analyst at Union Bank; he went on to lead the IT team at Gulf Bank for more than eight years. He is currently a Non-Executive Director at HIS Towers, a provider of telecommunications infrastructure in emerging markets. Akintemi has a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Lagos. He is also an alumnus of a number of prestigious business schools: the Lagos Business School, INSEAD, Wharton, and the IMD Business School. He has completed several senior management courses in these institutions. He is a member of the Institute of Directors, and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Segun Akintemi will be speaking at this year’s edition of the Connect Nigeria Business Fair. He will be discussing the route to success in today’s business world, drawing from his vast experience in finance the corporate environment, and entrepreneurship.

Muhammad Rudman

Muhammad Rudman is the CEO of Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), Nigeria’s first IXP. He has led the company since its inception. He is also the president of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), the registry for .ng web domain names. He has over 19 years of experience in the IT industry, specifically in network design and implementation. Before joining IXPN, he filled roles in several organizations, where he brought his IT expertise to bear on various projects. One of these was Galaxy IT&T Limited, where he led the implementation of rural telephone connections for personal handy phones. Rudman is Chairman of the Nigerian chapter or the global IPv6 Forum, an organization that creates awareness about IPv6 deployment across the world. In this capacity, he leads the promotion of IPv6 in Nigeria. He is also a member of the National Broadband Council, the body set up to evaluate, review and monitor the implementation of the National Broadband Plan in Nigeria. Mr Rudman has been engaged with many policy-making committees in the country and has contributed to the development of Nigeria’s ICT space. He will be speaking at this year’s edition of the Connect Nigeria Business Fair, where he will be sharing his deep knowledge of IT in Nigeria, and telling how businesses can take advantage of the opportunities and tools space has to offer.

Ayotunde Coker

Ayotunde Coker is Managing Director at Rack Center, a data centre that serves user businesses in Nigeria with cloud and collocation services from over 6,000 sqm of secure data space. His experience spans over three decades and embraces four continents—Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Coker began his career in the United Kingdom. First, he worked as Quality Engineer at Coopers Filters Limited, before becoming Senior Analyst at Ford of Europe IT. Between 1993 and 2000, he was Senior Manager at Cap Gemini UK, a global leader in technology services and digital transformation. He had a stint as Executive Vice President, Technology and Financial Services (Europe) at Agency.com, where he was responsible for the organization’s technology discipline and business development support in Europe. In the years that followed, Coker took up roles as Director of Digital Services at Egg, the Digital Bank; as Global Applications Director at BP International Corporate Functions, and as Chief Technology Officer at the UK Criminal Justice IT.  He also served as Group IT Director at the Ministry of Justice, UK. Upon returning to Nigeria in 2009, he assumed the position of Group CIO at Access Bank, where he was in charge of the bank’s information technology and information management. He went on to become the MD, West Africa, at Emerging Markets Payments Group (now Network International). Coker has a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Wales, and an M.Sc from Cranfield University. He is currently the Secretary-General of the Africa Data Centers Association. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, UK, and Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Nigeria. He was recently named in the Data Economy Magazine’s Power 200 list of World’s Most Influential Data Economy Leaders. Ayotunde Coker will be speaking at this year’s edition of the Connect Nigeria Business Fair. He will be revealing the opportunities and tools for business success available in Nigeria’s ICT space.

Chidi Ileka

Over 20 years of banking experience with hands-on experience in Treasury and all aspects of Banking Operations with a bias for International Trade Operations and Trade Products sales. Chidi Ileka is a trade finance specialist with a remarkable capacity for trade transaction structuring & advising; transaction banking products design, sales and management. Since 2001, He has been a faculty member of the Banks he has worked for out of his love for capacity building. In the last four years, He has narrowed his focus on Transaction Banking – Trade Finance, Cash Management, Working Capital and Channels.

 Agatha Amata

Agatha Amata is a media entrepreneur, talk show host, and philanthropist. For over two decades, she has been involved in the Nigerian media space and has played a major part in the emergence of the contemporary media industry in Nigeria. She is most widely known for her long-running TV talk show, Inside Out with Agatha, a program that has featured on Nigerian television since 1997. It was also the country’s first TV talk show of its kind. The program was the springboard for what has become a media consultancy firm, which embraces a TV station, Rave TV, and a radio station, Trend 100.9 FM, Asaba. Rave is available on Startimes Channel 125, MY tv Channel 4, as well as Multiview and Consat cable platforms. Inside Out Media also produces TV programmers and commercial jingles. The company is present in both Lagos and Delta States. Agatha Amata will be speaking at the Connect Nigeria Business Fair. She will be drawing from her entrepreneurial journeys to deliver nuggets for long term business success in Nigeria’s challenging business climate.

Fela Durotoye

Fela Durotoye is a business management consultant, executive leadership coach, and public speaker. For over 27 years, he has consulted for business executives and corporates, enabling them to achieve significant growth targets across their organizations. He is president of the Gemstone Nation Builders Foundation, an NGO that trains young people to demonstrate exceptional leadership and transform their society. Durotoye runs the Business Leadership Network, one of Africa’s biggest business leadership organizations, with over 600 CEOs and high-level executives receiving corporate training, mentorship, and angel investment through it. His previous professional engagements saw him work for Ventures and Trusts Limited and Phillip Consulting. He started V.I.P. Consulting, a customer and human resources management company, in the year 2000. Later on, it became a social enterprise and took on the name Visible Impact Limited. Durotoye was the presidential candidate of the Alliance for a New Nigeria (ANN) party at the 2019 presidential elections in Nigeria. He has degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He’s also an alumnus of the John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education of Havard University, and the Leadership Institute, Arlington, Virginia. The Connect Nigeria Business Fair is free to attend.
