Before a select audience of top media and entertainment personalities and brand reps, United Sounds of Africa (USA) was formally unveiled on Sunday July 8, 2012 at the exclusive Club Rumors in Ikeja, Lagos.
The 7-city Live Nation tour of North America scheduled to run from August 1 – 12 will feature Africa’s finest, 2face Idibia as headliner alongside Hip-hop royalty, MI with support from Timi Dakolo, Jesse Jags, Brymo and J. Martins.
On hand alongside 2face, MI and Timi Dakolo were Now Muzik’s Efe Omorogbe, Chocolate City’s Mary Ero and Lola Coker of Interglobe who all expressed their delight at the potentials of the ground-breaking partnership that has given birth to the first-ever Live Nation promoted road tour designed to offer African talent the platform to showcase their world-class ability on the best stages available.
Speaking on behalf of the hosts of the parley – Now Muzik, Hypertek Entertainment, Chocolate City, Intergloba and Beat FM – Efe established the rationale behind the collaboration that is determined to take African music and talent to the next level with specific reference to the mainstream touring circuit.
Deji Awokoya of Beat FM, media partners of USA reiterated his brand’s commitment to being in the forefront of ground-breaking moves in the entertainment industry with a promise that fans at home and abroad will get up to the minute info, exclusive interviews, backstage access and all the juicy details of the tour experience from their correspondent on the tour. Fans will also get the chance to catch live broadcast of the concerts and win fabulous prizes for participating in tour trivia.
Iroko Partners, represented by Thelma O’Khaz, sponsors of the USA tour expressed their excitement and optimism that the line-up of artistes and the platform will deliver befitting representation of the contemporary Nigerian music taking the world by storm.
