Recently, I had a flashback to a time in my life when things were just bad. The memory came clearly like it happened yesterday. I was dragging my suitcases out of my university accommodation and heading for the airport in tears. I had prayed tirelessly in the weeks leading up to that day for God to perform a miracle that would allow me remain in the UK and continue my education. It didn’t happen. I saw how, in the months after that, I struggled to accept my new reality. I may not have said it out loud but my countenance showed it; I was disappointed in God.
So from that point in time in my life to this moment, God showed me how He upheld me and saw me through it all. In that moment, as words failed me, all I could say was “Thank you Lord!”
You see, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not, God has been faithful to you. He has been awesome. It may not feel like it or look like it but trust me, God has been good to you.
Do you know that the level of difficulty of your situation does not affect the goodness of God? He is always good. No matter how broke you are, God will always be good to you. That is why you need to count your blessings.
I have come to realise that in getting your miracle, you need to see things from the right perspective. Have you lost all hope simply because you have been searching for a job for months but all you have as proof of your efforts is a pile of rejection letters? Have you given up on your dreams simply because you have faced many obstacles and things haven’t changed? You are getting discouraged because you are looking at the problem the wrong way. You need to change the way you are thinking!
Don’t get obsessed about the problem; count your blessings instead. Remember the time God came through for you. Remember the time He delivered you from a very terrible situation.
Sometimes when I think of the funds I need to execute the projects that lie ahead of me, my heart is tempted to feel heavy. But then, I remember the times God miraculously provided for me. I remember the times He caused the ravens to feed me. I find it interesting that we tend to be forgetful in the midst of challenges. We forget what God has done for us in the past. David was able to conquer Goliath because he called to remembrance the time when God enabled him to kill the lion and the bear. Same God. Bigger miracle!
Always count your blessings and thank God for them. I really love to worship God and exalt His name even when things are going haywire. Worship unleashes blessings. So when you begin to feel overwhelmed about a problem, why don’t you worship and thank God instead? Don’t lament about the problem. Praise. Pray. Call to remembrance all the great things He has done for you in the past and rejoice over them. God doesn’t just bless once and move on. If you read your Bible, you will discover that God daily loads us with benefits. So for every day you have been given the privilege to live, there are blessings in store for you. Tap into those blessings.
Every blessing that God has for you will locate you as you continue to have faith in Him. Just hold on; that mountain will be levelled before you. That problem will pass away. For a person who can trust in God and can stand on His word, challenges will always give way to victory! So rejoice, you will always triumph.
