The second edition of the
Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Football Tournament has been scheduled to begin on Sunday, 30
th September and end on Saturday, 6
th October, 2018.
Kwara State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Muyideen Alalade, who is also the chairman of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC), revealed the dates in an interview on Thursday in Ilorin.
Alalade told newsmen that he and his team of seasoned strategists have been working tirelessly to ensure that this year’s edition of the
football tournament surpasses the expectations of participants and spectators.
The commissioner went on to further explain that the MOC has decided to retain the same number of institutions that participated in the first edition —16 competitors, however, this year, the top three institutions at the end of the games will be awarded cash gifts alongside their trophies.
The MOC has finalized talks with the host, University of Ilorin and Kwara Football Academy, and has also met with the leadership of the Joint Steering Committee for Sports Development in higher institutions, comprising NUGA, NIPOGA and NICEGA, in other to set the final plans rolling for a hitch-free tourney.
