Is the Presidency the Most Powerful Job in Nigeria?

Are you not able to make a change without being president? Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe have made more impact in Nigeria than most presidents have. So have Dora Akunyili, Nasir El Rufai, Tony Elumelu and Mike Adenuga. Can’t Muhammadu Buhari do something else? Can’t he start the biggest farm in the north? Or mentor the next president? Must it be as a president only? Does this show the true calling of a leader, “president or die”? Is Clinton not effecting more global change now that he is a retired president? Nelson Mandela? Even OBJ? All he wants to do is what is happening in Russia with Putin. Those clamouring for change need to read history; ours and others’. What change is he truly bringing? Let Buhari go and study this and see how it is done. In the business world, Bill Gates is retired but he is still very influential around the world and is effecting tremendous change. What has Buhari done? What is he doing? What will he do? His running for president is more harmful to Nigeria than good for Nigeria. He is inciting violence from the youth that his generation refused to train. They are burning campaign buses and attacking the presidential campaign. To what good? For what? So that he can bring change. Change to what and for what? If people really wanted him and he is a man of integrity as he so passionately wants us to believe, he should not have switched parties 4 times to get a better shot. With each switch, he compromises and tells the young ones that it does not matter how you get there, as long as you get there. Now he is being sponsored by the same type of men he is known to lock up. By the way, why does the president want to be known for one thing and one thing only- lock up corrupt people?   #BuhariPullOver
