Invitation To A Corporate Charity Banquet, For Cancer Prevention Programme
Staff Writer
The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria) is seeking your partnership in a historic project that has the potential to save the lives of almost 100,000 Nigerians annually.
The last Monday in February is designated as International Corporate Philanthropy Day (ICPD). The ICPD was first observed eight years ago in the United States of America, but has now become an international event. The corporate world in Nigeria will join hands to mark it for the first time in 2013.
ICPD 2013 is dedicated towards raising funds to acquire thirty-seven (37) mobile cancer centres, one for each state of the federation and Abuja. The mobile cancer centres will facilitate the ongoing nation-wide cancer screening/treatment campaign of the National Cancer Prevention Programme (NCPP), a non-governmental initiative of mass medical mission.
The co-hosts of ICPD 2013 are the major bodies of the organized private sector, including the Institute of Directors (IoD), the International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICC) , the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (M.A.N.), the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA), the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC), the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (NACCIMA), the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
The roles you can play with respect to the ICPD are:
To attend the ICPD Corporate Charity Banquet
To invite your associates to participate effectively in the ICPD
To donate towards the mobile centres.
By playing a significant role towards the success of this initiative, you and your organisation
would be contributing in no small measure to national transformation.
