Milk tart is a creamy tart dessert made from sweet pastry containing a milky custard fill made from milk, flour and eggs. This is easy to whip and the ingredients for baking consists of items found in our pantry. The milk tart is an excellent treat for your family and visitors.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg
½ cup of powdered sugar
2 tsp baking powder
125g of butter softened
Pinch of salt
Milky filling
4 cups of milk
2 ½ tbsp of flour
2 ½ tbsp of cornstarch
½ cup of white sugar
1 tsp of vanilla essence
3 eggs
1 tbsp of butter
½ tsp of ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 °F (175°C)
Coat a 9-inch deep pan with vegetable oil
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the egg and beat until mixture is smooth, light and fluffy. In another bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, salt and mix until well blended. Pour the flour mixture into sugar mixture and combine thoroughly. Press mixture into bottom and sides of the 9-inch pie pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown.
For the filling
In a large saucepan, combine milk, vanilla extract and butter. Bring to boil over a medium heat, then remove from burner.
In a separate bowl, mix together the 2 ½ tablespoons of flour, corn-starch, and ½ cup of sugar beat the eggs and add to the mixture, beat until very smooth.
Slowly whisk the mixture into milk and boil, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Pour the mixture into pastry sprinkle with ground cinnamon and chill until ready to serve.
