Eating healthy is important for you and your family. And when it comes to children, a typical child will pick a candy bar over a fruit or vegetable.
Being a picky eater makes it more difficult for one to eat and try new things. However, there are ways to bring fun into your meals and your kitchen especially when it is snack.
So, here are three quick fun snacks you can make with your children.
APPLE LADYBUG SNACKS
In this recipe, red apples are decorated so they look like lady bugs. This is a quick snack you can make with the children.
Ingredients:
Red Apples
Pretzel Sticks/ Toothpicks
Peanut Butter
Raisins
(Cream cheese is a very good replacement for peanut butter allergies.)
Directions:
Slice the apples in half from the top to bottom. Take out the cores in the apples using a knife or an apple corer, if you have one. After coring the apple, slice it into two. Place down the flat side of each apple on a small plate.
Put spots of peanut butter on the back of the ‘lady bug’, and then place raisins on the spots.
For the eyes, Stick one end of each pretzel/ toothpick stick into a raisin, then press the other end into the apples to make the antennae.
Now you can munch on your Ladybug.
CHERRY PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE
