The 16th edition of the
GOtv Boxing Night has been scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 14, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
This edition promises to be the biggest in a series of
boxing nights, as organizers plan to thrill the audience with nine different bouts — the highest ever since the first edition of the event in 2014.
At the press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, October 2, the team announced that attendees will surely be tingled all over with the collection of fighters that will grace the stage at the most stimulating night in Nigerian boxing.
Line Up
The
West African Boxing Union (WABU) lightweight title clash between Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu and Ghana’s Benjamin Lamptey is right on top of the list of the most anticipated fights for the night.
African Boxing Union Champion, Oto ‘Joe Boy’ Joseph will taken on Ghana’s Anama Dotse in an International lightweight challenge.
In the national lightweight title bout, Kabiru ‘KB Godson’ Towolawi will face Adewale ‘Masevex’ Masebinu.
Waidi ‘Skoro’ Usman and Chibuzor ‘T Boy’ Obi will take a go at each other to determine who the stronger featherweight is, in another bout that attendees should look forward to.
In the lightweight category, Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje will face-off Tope ‘TP Rock’ Musa, while, Aminu ‘Lucky Boy’ Akintayo will take on Mutiu ‘Machine’ Lawal in the super flyweight category.
Boxers discovered in the last two editions of th
e GOtv Boxing NextGen Search will also get a chance to fight during the night.
The winner and best boxer of the night will go home with a cash prize and the
Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
