Drinking Water Improves Work Output

There are many reasons why you lack concentration during work hours, one of such is due to your body being dehydrated. Most people work all day without realizing that they are severely dehydrated because most times it doesn’t have obvious complications like aching buttocks from sitting down too long or bloodshot eyes from staring at the screen all day. Dehydration, apart from resulting in lack of concentration, can also create an imbalance of salts and sugar in the body which can lead to serious health complications. This, in turn, can make our health suffer. Here are steps to keep you hydrated while at work:

Always carry a water bottle:

It is not childish to own a water bottle, besides, placing water beside you would remind you to drink it. Plus it reduces the excuse for being too busy to hydrate.

Eat more water containing foods:

Melons, apples and oranges would increase your water intake so go for such fruits as snacks if possible. Also, drink water along with your meals, rather than opting for soft drinks or your regular coffee.

Set yourself a challenge:

This I tried out and it did work, get the desired water quality you want, for instance, 2 liters of water, challenge yourself to finish it before leaving the office.

Sweeten your water:

Drinking a large quantity of water can be challenging, don’t allow your water to be boring and dull. Spice it up with a slice of cucumber or with lemon juice to enjoy drinking it.

Cut your coffee and tea intake:

Many of us are in the habit of starting our day with a cup of coffee or tea an continue with it throughout the day. What we do not know is that water does more for our body than tea or coffee does.
