Varieties of energy drinks are found in many shopping aisles all over the world, however, some may be harmful to the body in the long run because of the high amounts of caffeine and sugar.

Nevertheless, you don’t have to deprive yourself of an energy drink. You can still get an instant boost with all natural and homemade energy drinks. Surprisingly, they all contain the same ingredients- water, electrolytes and flavours.

Preparation:

  1. Wash thoroughly all available ingredients needed for the drink.
  2. Mix freshwater, fruit juice (any of your choice), salt and sweetener (any of your choice) in a blender.
  3. Blend all the liquids thoroughly.
  4. If it’s too diluted, then add more juice; if it tastes too sweet, add more water. (you can substitute water with coconut water to add potassium and simple sugars to your drink)
  5. Add the fruits, bananas and berries, and vegetables like kale or spinach and chia seeds.
  6. Then add the supplements or caffeine, yoghurt and wheat germ.
  7. Blend thoroughly.
  8. Your Energy drink is ready.
  9. You can also add some ice.

Note: Always be cautious with supplements like caffeine. Be sure to read the warning labels thoroughly before drinking.
