Raise your hands if you have eventually discovered what your passion in life is. Most people do not even know what passion is. Passion is the drive inside you that pushes you to keep doing the things that makes you happy even if the world sees no sense in it. People are passionate about different things, art, science, music and even philosophy, the list is endless. So the question is how do you recognize your own passion? The answer is not far-fetched, your passion is that thing that feels great every time you do it and you want to keep doing it even when you are busy with other stuff. The difference between your passion and your hobby is that you indulge in hobbies only when you have free time on your hands. The following tips should help you figure out what exactly your passion is:
Find out your dream. While growing up, we all had these ideas about who we want to become and what we want to do in life. Sadly, lots of these dreams faded when reality set in and challenges had to be faced. To discover your passion, try to remember the one thing you have always wanted to be right from when you were a kid. If you still feel the same excitement you felt then, perhaps it is time to find a way to make that dream come true.
Know what feels great. What feels good is different from what feels great. It does not take a genius to differentiate between what he absolutely enjoys doing and what he just manages to do because he has to do it. Passion stirs up deep emotions inside you, whether yours is painting, cooking or just reading, you never get bored of what you are doing. It never feels like work and you are always smiling while doing it, this is passion.
Tap into your imaginations. The brain is one of the most powerful organs in the body, aside from directing the actions of other organs, it has the ability to conjure up images even when they are not there. This is called imagination. Use it to discover your passion, employ imagination in finding out what you really want to do if given the full opportunity. If you are constantly thinking about doing it, then it is time to take action and move closer to what makes you happy from the inside- your passion.
Recognize what you are good at. It is normal to get better at something you do on a regular basis. If there is something seemingly simple that you know how to do, especially the ones others find difficult, it may be your passion. Maybe you just don’t recognize it yet. If you are good with your hands or expert at a certain craft, pay more attention to it. It just might be your own unique passion.
