Did you know that you can preserve a lot of your food items naturally without putting them in a fridge.

Stockfish

Did you know you can preserve your dry stockfish by storing it with dry pepper? Pepper has a strong choking flavour that prevents bugs and other arthropods from destroying your stockfish. To preserve your Stockfish, store in an empty sac bag and add a cup of dry unground pepper to your it. Tie the mouth of the sac and keep in a dry place at room temperature.

Ugba (oil bean) is usually wrapped in green leaves and undergo microbial activities which help worms grow in them. To preserve your oil bean, wrap it properly in green leaves and boil it in a pot with little water. Place some sticks at the bottom of the pot or wrap in a nylon and boil to prevent water from touching it. The steam does the job perfectly. Your oil bean will last for days.
