Cornflakes is type of cereal manufactured from toasted flakes of corn, sometimes eaten with milk and sugar. It is most certainly a popular breakfast choice around the world.
Here are facts you probably didn’t know about cereal:
Kellogg’s Cornflakes was made by Mr Kellogg in the late 19th century.
The first manufactured breakfast cereal ‘granula’, created by Dr. James Jackson in 1863, had to be soaked overnight before it could be consumed.
The word cereal comes from Ceres, the Roman goddess of harvest and agriculture. Cerealia was a festival in honour of the grain goddess
