Landmark began its operations in 1997, with Paul Onwuanibe, a British Nigerian leading the company as CEO. From its early days, it’s carved up a niche within the Nigerian real estate industry and has become a respected name in that space. Most people will recognize this brand due to the Landmark Event Center, a property located in Lagos. The building often hosts some of the biggest events in the city, organized by important local organizations and foreign concerns. But that property is just one of the many things that the Landmark claims ownership of. The company’s website says that its holdings in ongoing and completed building projects exceed the 130,000 square meters (sqm) mark. That expanse includes office spaces, residential spaces, and leisure centres. A lot of these properties are located in Lagos, but there are upcoming projects situated outside of the megacity.

An example is the Landmark Center in Owerri, Imo State. This building is designed to host events of various kinds– conferences, weddings, corporate events, and more. This event can take anywhere between 100 and 1,500 people at a time. There’s also the Landmark Waterview Apartments, a 25-floor residential building, and the Landmark Boulevard, a retail space that should cover 8,000sqm of space. Both these developments are sited in Lagos, as are many of Landmark’s other buildings. The Landmark Towers, among this company’s better-known structures, is a mixed-use commercial real estate development. It has six floors of office space, a restaurant, a 22-room hotel, a gym, a spa, a squash court, and a children’s playground. Besides these, Landmark offers living, business, and leisure spaces at its ocean-front Landmark Village; commercial and office space at the Landmark House; relaxation and leisure at the Landmark Hotel; and retail consultancy solutions for local and international companies (this service includes market research and reporting services). The company has a presence in North, West, East, and South Africa. These centres enable it to serve its international clientele. Featured Image Source: Landmark Africa
