Nigeria’s largest car depot, Berger Park, Apapa, Lagos has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with online pan African car website checki.com.ng on a bilateral business relationship.
The pact which was signed Thursday, 30th of January, will see checki.com.ng advertise cars of various car marts in Berger Park on its website for free.
Speaking to press men on the deal, Vice Chairman of Berger Park, Barrister Maduabu Chukwu Akudu said the park decided to start doing business online following the growth of online businesses in Nigeria as it will spur other business sectors to embrace business in this area.
“The partnership will enhance customer/dealer relationship as they can check the vehicles available and make their decision before coming down to Apapa to buy. It is a whole new level of doing business for us here. People must begin to see us as professionals or corporate guys also and doing business online will expand our market and it will help the economy and also instill trust in doing online business.”
Responding, the General Manager of checki, Mrs Tomi Hodonu, said the partnership would help build confidence and encourage the online business community.
“Berger is the second largest physical market in West Africa after Cotonu, Benin republic, and with our monthly traffic of over five hundred thousand users, the car dealers are open to a wide range of customers which will translate to successful business for them,” she said, dispelling chances of fraud while emphasising the security of the website.
“We have zero tolerance for fraud; internal or external fraud. We will only be dealing directly with the accredited dealers in Berger,” she added.
The signing of the partnership was witnessed by executive members of the Berger Park auto dealers association, members of the press, and staff members of checki.
