Arik Airline has announced that it will begin commercial flight operations between Abuja, Nigeria, and Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on July 28, 2014.
Michael Arumemi-Ikhide, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, disclosed this in a statement signed by Arik spokesperson, Adebanji Ola.
Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide said that the new route would operate five flights weekly travelling from Nigeria on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and returning from Dubai on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
He explained that the route would be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, adding that the aircraft would offer a two-class configuration with 30 Premier Business Class seats and 187 Economy Class seats.
“Outbound flights will depart from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 7.05 p.m. and arrive at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 8.20 p.m.
“The flight will then continue on to Dubai, departing Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 9.50 p.m. and finally arriving at Dubai International Airport, Dubai (local time) at 7.20 p.m.
“The inbound flight will depart Dubai at 10.30 a.m. (local time) and arrive in Abuja at 2.30 p.m.”The flight continues on to Lagos, leaving Abuja at 4.00 p.m. and arriving in Lagos at 5.15 p.m.,” he said.
Mr. Arumemi-Ikhide said that the aircraft was an environmental friendly product that provided comfort for the passengers.
