College students with a strong interest in a financial career are invited to apply for the program and help the development mandate of the World Bank. The program lays the foundation for participants to become junior analysts and a two-year position on one Treasury team after graduating from their degree program. Applicants for the Treasury Summer Paid Internship are expected to be in the second to final year in the equivalent of a four-year college degree program when applying for the internship. Selected interns will work full-time for ten weeks (May 27-August 4, 2025) in Washington, DC, USA. They will also receive a custom onboarding program during the first week of the program before a three-week rotation will resume across Treasury teams. During the program, interns will take part in weekly discussions with the program director and will also hear from various Treasury managers, officers, and directors during a career perspectives speaker series. Interns will also have access to the nearly 300-employee Treasury and will also meet the Vice President & Treasurer.

Interns will complete their rotation with a presentation to their respective teams and will complete their internship program after presenting the management team with their work in a capstone project.
To be eligible for the program
- The applicant must be enrolled in the second-to-last year of the equivalent of a four-year college degree program and strongly demonstrate interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- The applicant must be ready to graduate with the equivalent of a four-year college degree between December 2025 and September 2026.
- The applicant must be in good academic standing at their college or university.
- The applicant must be available full-time for the entirety of the internship.
- The applicant must not have a concurrent employment contract or internship.

The benefits of the program include
- Interns gain a short-term temporary contract and get paid $21.30 (net for non-US citizens) and $26.00 (gross for US citizens) per hour for 400 hours.
- Each intern will be given a World Bank laptop at the start of the internship.
- Visa sponsorship for interns to work in the United States.
