The Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) is giving you the chance to achieve your aim. The fellowship, founded in 2011 by the US Consulate General in Lagos, is open to young exceptional talents who have what it takes to design and implement projects that could positively impact the Nigerian society.
Nigerians living and working in Lagos are free to apply.
How the Fellowship Works
- Fellows are selected by the CYFI Board of Directors and the Public Affairs Section of the US consulate. They will be chosen for based on their demonstration of vision, skill and experience, and the ability to efficiently communicate their strategies.
- Fellows will be split into teams. These teams will develop a youth engagement project over the course of the fellowship year. They will also have the opportunity to attend networking events organized by the US Consulate General, Lagos.
- The fellowship year will end with an award ceremony, in which fellows will be inducted to the CYFI Alumni Program.
If you’re interested in being admitted into the program, you can apply via the CYFI’s website. Be sure to fill in all fields, as incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applicants will also be required to complete a hypothetical scenario.
The deadline for applications is December 31. Persons selected by the CYFI Board for interviews will be informed; interviews will take place in January 2017 at the US Consulate General, Lagos. Those who qualify from this stage will be notified in February, 2017.
