NiPhec 2014, started on April 28th and participants had a photowalk where top notch photographers mingled with participants while capturing the sights and scenes around them. Workshops and seminars opened the next day with keynote presentations from NiPhec convener and professional photographer, Seun Akinsanmi and some professional photographers in the industry. By 12.30pm, the first workshops and seminars were in session. The topics discussed were eye opening, engaging and entertaining for all that participated. Facilitators, professional photographers, upcoming photographers, amateur photographers, entrepreneurs in the photography business and the media all mingled and rubbed minds on how photographers can improve in their profession and progress to becoming world class photographers. Topics like “Photography as a medium of social change”, “Effective Photography Business Management and thirty other engaging photography topics were treated by professional photographers and facilitators as participants were encouraged, educated, enlightened and connected.
There was something enlightening and engaging for every one who participated at NiPhec 2014. The exhibition ended on a successful note. Participants got the value of what they signed up for. I could be counted with the amateur photographers but I did not feel amateur at all attending the conference. Instead, I was told what I need to do to become better and was connected with professional photographers dedicated to making me better. We look forward to when photographers will convene like this again to discuss ways to improve our passion – photography. NiPhec 2014 in one sentence was an AMAZING experience!
