Renowned comedian, Ali Baba, has announced that he would give scholarship awards to some selected 1st Class university graduates and also recognition awards to eight Nigerian pioneers.
This will take place during his comedy concert on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2015 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The show will feature well over 30 comedians including BasketMouth, Bovi, AY, Akpororo, Yaw and musicians D’banj, Waje, Jaywon, HarrySong and Oritsefemi.
Fans of the comedy veteran have since begun registering their interest in attending. “January 1st concert is the only thing that will make me travel from Akure to Lagos on January 1st,” a fan, @maxiculture wrote on Twitter recently.
Others like @ba55ey are already tipping the event as Alibaba’s ‘best production yet’.
Alibaba’s January 1st concert is the first of its kind and is put together by popular show promoter, Bunmi Davies.
