Aiteo CAF Awards: Salah Dreams Of Being The Greatest Player Ever

Mohamed Salah
The Aiteo CAF Player of the year Mohamed Salah says he aspires to be the greatest ever footballer to come out of his country. Salah is the first Egyptian to receive the accolade after the recent changes to the award process and the second after Mahmoud El Khatib in 1983. He also clinched the BBC African Player of the Year award and is well on his way to achieving his dreams of being Egypt’s best player yet. 2017 was definitely Mo Salah’s best year as he scored 19 goals and contributed 15 assists with AS Roma before moving to Liverpool, where he has currently registered 17 Premier League goals, and 23 strikes in 29 competitive outings. Speaking at a pre-event press briefing in Accra on his arrival from England, Salah could not hide his joy for being shortlisted in top three for the award which he won. “I’m very proud to be here now. I am always (thinking) in my mind that I want to win everything. I want to win more than anyone that came before me,”. “In my mind, I want to be the best player ever in Egypt in our history,” he affirmed. “I know what I want, I know I have to do it. I’m working hard every day, improving myself so that’s what I want. I think I’m going well at the moment and I’m going to see in the future one after the other.” He added.
