Adamawa Speaker Sworn in as Acting Governor

The President of the Customary Court in Adamawa state has sworn in Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, as the Acting Governor following the impeachment of Governor Murtala Nyako and the resignation of his deputy, yesterday. Mr. Fintiri will hold office for a maximum of 3 months during which time the electoral commission, INEC, is expected to conduct a fresh governorship election.
