About the Books at Connect Nigeria’s 1st Writers’ Conference

 

 

  The Writers’ Conference was a wonderful learning experience for every writer that participated. If you were not there, we are trying our hardest to contain our reflex shock! Anyway, this article is dedicated to those amazing books made available for readers and writers at the just concluded writers’ conference and if you don’t have a copy of them yet, we will tell you why you need to get them and the places where you can get them. Adaeze Adophy’s Book This Spicy Little Book made one of the collections at the conference. It is a collection of thoughts and insights to inspire and challenge you towards changing your life, achieving your goals and living your dreams. Adaeze Adophy is Speaker, Psychologist, Personal Development Facilitator and Life Coach at SPICY Chrysalis. Her book is available at major bookstores in Nigeria.   Funto Oni’s Book Beautified also made the cut. Beautified is the complete beauty guide for every woman, as well as men who care about their women. You can take it around in your bag and call on those colorful pages whenever you need beauty tips. Funto Oni’s dedication to unleashing the beauty in every one which would ultimately boost their self-confidence and self-esteem is revealed in this book. This masterpiece is available at major bookstores in Nigeria.   Ike Nnaebue, a fast rising Nigerian Movie Director/Screenwriter did not write a book, however did direct and produce a movie titled Under Your Skin, a comedy movie featuring Uche Jombo, Jason Nwoga and Bishop Umoh. It is a movie about how a man who was confined to a wheelchair after a road accident is intrigued by his neighbor. You can find this on iROKOtv.     Lekan Otufodunrin’s book, Purpose Driven Journalism was also on our book spread at the conference. The book is a wake-up call to journalists to understand and fulfill their purpose in journalism. It is a motivational message for excelling in the profession that transcends the usual emphasis on skill acquisition. It is available at TerraKulure, Debonair Bookshop and book stores nationwide.   Steve Harris’ Book From College Dropout To A Corporate Sell-Out was also on display. According to Business Day Newspapers, the highly sought-after management consultant and motivational speaker narrates with the storytelling ability of a master story teller capturing his struggles in a better than fiction, straight from the heart, entertaining manner. This book is available at Silverbird Lifestyle store, Silverbird Galleria, Hub Media Store at the Palms, and Laterna Ventures, Victoria Island.   Ochechukwu Ofili’s books, How Laziness Saved My LifeHow Intelligence Kills and How Stupidity Saved My Life turns rebels against the conventional way of doing things and casts an unorthodox perspective on the reader.
