I’m sure I have said this several time before. Applying makeup primer before your foundation is very necessary if you want your makeup to last for a pretty long time. Makeup primers keep out the oil while filling in fine lines and providing a smooth canvas for your foundation to stick to. It also helps in preventing obvious foundation streaks, noticeable pores and redness around the nose. With that being said, here’s a list of the best makeup primers I have used so far:
Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer: This product is pretty much my staple. It has a very silky feel, light-weight, it protects the skin and it retains moisture.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer: Although this product is pretty expensive, it goes on very easily and keeps your makeup matte for the whole day or night.
MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect: This is a skin protecting primer that locks in your moisturizer/serum and prevents your foundation from going into your pores or blemishes.
Makeup Forever HD MicroPerfecting Primer: It’s easy to apply, it moisturizes the skin and it dries pretty quickly. It’s really good for sensitive skin.
Too Faced Primed and Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer: While not the cheapest, this primer fills in pores very well and gives a smooth surface for applying foundation. A little bit goes a long way.
Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Potion: This product goes on like a cream that temporarily improves the appearance of your skin even without foundation.
