5 Ways to Get Rid of Cockroaches from Your Houses

repellentguide.com

How do we get rid of cockroaches from our houses? The solutions may not be far-fetched if we know the reasons. Here are some things we should know.
  1. Sometimes, not because the house is dirty but because they have lived in the area even before you moved into your house. So, it is possible to clean your house and still have roaches creeping around. Solution: Clear and fumigate the compound. This will destroy already existing habitats outside the house where they breed and from which they creep in.
  2. Because there are food and water within their reach. Like other living things, cockroaches need food and water to survive. So they can be found in houses where food particles are exposed in unwashed plates, uncovered food, damp walls, greasy surfaces and undisposed trash. With these factors, they will do well and multiply fast. Solution: Wash up plates and clean surfaces as soon as possible to starve them of food. Avoid leaving out dirty dishes and trash overnight.
  3. Because it is dark. Cockroaches are nocturnal and hence are very active when the lights are off. Solution: For a period of time, consider leaving the lights on in areas prone to their invasions such as the kitchen and bathrooms. Make use of LED lights to conserve energy.
  4. Because there are cracks. Cockroaches fit into the smallest of places. Cracks in furniture, ceilings, wall and windows either allow a niche where the roaches can multiply or passages through which they can come into the house. Solution: Seal up cracks by using appropriate materials, for example, glue for furniture and cement for walls.
  5. Because the air is conducive. In addition to food and water, cockroaches also need a conducive atmosphere. So if in a long while you have not made the air uncomfortable by using insecticides or burning incense, then the atmosphere may be just okay for stray cockroaches that have made their way into your home. Solution: Once in a while use substances that would repel the pest. This solution, however, should not be a regular one because the substances may be potentially toxic to humans.
