3 Nollywood Actresses That Wore Made In Nigeria Oufits Last Week

 

Nigerian entertainment industry, Nollywood has not been immune to the infiltration of Western fashion like other entertainment industries around the world. Some celebrities prefer to wear clothes with big labels while some still find a healthy balance between wearing Western clothes and those made in Nigeria.

The actresses discussed below are a little percent of Nollywood stars that wore Made in Nigeria outfits last week.

1. Oyebade Adebimpe Adedimeji

She recently tied the knot with her heartthrob, Lateef Adedimeji, who is also in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Adebimpe has not failed to show her immense love for made in Nigeria clothing as all her wedding outfits were designed by Nigerian fashion designers. Recently, Adebimpe shared a picture on her instagram page, mo_bimpe, she was wearing a gorgeous dress made with Ankara fabrics. The dress was a mixture of two colourful Ankara fabrics used to sew an off shoulder dress with flounce, and it is flared with gathers from around the hips to the bottom of the dress.

The fabric was from April fabrics merchant and couture. April_fabrics is a Nigerian clothing brand located in Old Bodija, Ibadan. They sell varieties of Ankara fabrics in wholesale prices. They are also the convener of the Ibadan Ankara Fiesta.

The gorgeous dress was put together by a Nigerian fashion designer, Ronnies Golden Emporium Unisex.

Adebimpe completed her look with a clean makeup, red earrings and a short weave.

2. Mide Funmi Martins

Mide is an actress, movie producer, entrepreneur, brand influencer and many more. She is married to Afeez Owo, an actor and producer.

Mide always flawlessly slays in locally made outfits. Her pictures usually pop up when you are searching for native styles. Her love for made in Nigeria outfits is an open secret.

Not too long ago, Mide posted a picture on her instagram page, mydemartins, wearing a gold lace dress for a wedding party. Her style was simple but elegant. She tied a purple aso oke gele to compliment the look with her accessories and beautiful make-up. She looked very stunning.

3. Iyabo Ojo

Iyabo Ojo is a Nollywood actress, an entrepreneur and brand influencer. She has graced our screens right from the era of ‘old Nollywood’ to the now sophisticated and refined Nollywood industry we have.

She has always been a fashionista, trying out different outfits and effortlessly slaying in them.

She shared a beautiful aso oke outfit she wore for an occasion on her Instagram account, iyaboojofespris. The aso oke fabric was gotten from culture speaks, a fabric store in Surulere, Lagos, that sells Aso Oke for different occasions.

The dress is made up of Silk Aso Oke, full design Aso oke for the capes, Ipele and Gele in different colours of crowntex.

The main body of the dress is a blue Aso oke made as a silhouette, the upper part of the dress has four capes in different colours. The gele and Ipele are of the same colour and they match the dress perfectly.

Explaining the outfit, she wrote on the post ‘Representing Lagos in our culture is very important to me, we command class, fashion, style, colour, glamour and fun but above all, we represent our culture with so much finesse and style’. Her dress was designed by Galami Couture.

In order for made in Nigeria outfit to grow, thrive and be recognized on the global fashion scene, we have to consciously make our inputs by buying and wearing locally made outfits.
