2019 CN’s Top 100 Emerging SMEs: Sapient Vendors

Nigeria’s building and construction industry continues to grow apace. It contributed up to ₦671 billion to the country’s GDP in the fourth quarter of 2019 alone. The sector’s expansion over the years has been driven by the rapid growth of Nigeria’s urban population.

Sapient Vendors takes on projects in civil engineering, design and building, project management, and road construction. For over ten years, the firm has built structures for businesses in various industries, including telecoms, oil and gas, banking, maritime, and real estate, among others.

The company is headed by Walter Emiedafe, a project management professional with over 12 years of experience. He is an alumnus of Fate Foundation, and also a mentor at the Tony Elumelu Foundation. The Ibadan based company has thus far completed over 90 projects worth more than ₦400 million. This includes works in structural design drainage construction, location preparation, and foundation works. Others are mechanical and electrical service installation, interior fit-out, and refurbishments.

Clients with whom Sapient Vendors have worked include MTN, MRS Oil, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Skye Bank (now Polaris Bank), AB Microfinance Bank, Olam Nigeria Plc, Nigeria Immigration Service, and several others. It’s also completed projects at private residences as well.
