$20,000 D-Prize Challenge 2023 for Social Entrepreneurs

  If you are a social entrepreneur who has a business idea to distribute interventions that tackle poverty, and you’re looking for financial support to scale this enterprise, you may consider entering the D-Prize Challenge. If you finish among the top entrants, you could receive up to $20,000 to help launch your organization and expand its reach and impact.

Starting in 2014, the D-Prize has supported more than 200 social ventures and Non-Governmental Organizations with seed funding and has enabled them to deliver proven poverty interventions at significant scales. These interventions typically address issues related to health, water, education, agriculture, livelihoods, energy, and public services, but are not limited to these areas. The organizer reckons that its network of prize winners has cumulatively reached more than 5 million persons.

Benefits

Participants that finish in the top 1% will receive up to a $20,000 startup grant to launch their social enterprise.

Eligibility

This program is open to entrepreneurs of all ages and from any background. However, they are expected to meet these conditions:

How the Program will Unfold

The program’s organizers will invite the top 5% of entrants to answer short-written questions. Persons who receive these questions will have 2 weeks to respond to them. Applicants selected from this stage will answer questions via email and over the phone. The top performers from the final stage will get funded. Applications will remain open until June 24, 2023.
