Super Eagles of Nigeria assistant coach, Joseph Yobo has promised to add his wealth of experience as a former national team player to the team’s technical crew after assuming duties in his new role. Yobo who recently replaced Imama Amapakabo in the Eagles bench after confirmation of his appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation will assist Gernot Rohr in ensuring they bring glory to the West African nation.

The former Everton FC of England centre back captained Nigeria to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa where Nigeria emerged champions, and hopes to improve the Eagles backline, and play a huge role in the team’s future success.
I want to add my quota to the development of the team…As a former player and captain, I will like to bring my defensive capabilities into the team and I believe it will be a massive improvement to the backline. I also want to learn from the coach [Rohr] because he has done well since taking over the team and it will be an honour to learn under him whilst I also pursue my Uefa/Caf badges
