Do you have that amazing innovation or idea you believe can solve one of the pressing problems in the society? Only there’s a “but” – major funding?

This is another opportunity Genesys Tech Hub is presenting for innovative startups to win seed funding up to $30,000.

Genesys Tech Hub

Genesys Tech Hub is a people-centred community focused on growing talent, sustaining businesses and developing technical capacity in Nigeria. It is one of the biggest tech hubs in the country, located in Enugu and has been able to spread its effect from Enugu to gain national and international approval and recognition.

Genesys tech hub organizes a program yearly – IGNITE which is a conference that convenes young entrepreneurs/startups, industry leaders, visionaries, innovators, CTOs, CIOs, Engineers, Developers, Designers, and tech enthusiasts. The main objective is to explore the latest technology trends as it affects the nation and to proffer professional insights particularly for the participating startups. In addition to this, the event also promotes innovative business solutions by startups within the region and exposes participating startups to potential investors; ultimately seeking to become a catalyst for more innovative solutions.

Genesys IGNITE will allow industry leaders, visionaries; innovators make presentations and engage in panel discussions about tech trends in their space. These presentations will form a catalyst to innovations that will shape Nigeria’s future in the years ahead.

“…we are on a mission to understand why we need to focus more on knowledge driven initiatives that will drive innovation in the future”.

In 2017, the first edition of Genesys IGNITE  saw three startups win funding of $10,000 each. In 2018, two startups won funding of $15,000 each. 2019’s edition, which promises to be even better than the previous years with a seed funding of $30,000, is open to indigenous startups which have left the idea stage.

This seed-fund is to enable rapid scale startups and innovative ideas — in the tech industry expand their reach and increase traction by gaining more access to markets and resources that would otherwise be out of their reach. Successful applicants will join an intensive business development boot camp in July, as a build up to the Genesys IGNITE conference and Demo Day in November where they will pitch to a panel of judges in Enugu.

Winners will then join an intensive 6-month incubation period aimed at scaling their ideas and businesses to self-sustainability with additional perks in the form of working space, mentorship, support, and access to markets and resources. Interested? Apply!

Deadline for application is June 30, 2019.
