Win $100,000 In Business Grants In The AfDB YouthAdapt Challenge 2021

Opportunities For Africans

  The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) have launched the African Youth Adaptation Solutions (YouthAdapt) Challenge. The competition aims to identify and support youth-led enterprises in Africa to build climate-resiliency capabilities.

Young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35 who run an MSME and are interested in developing solutions to aid adaptation to climate change in Africa are encouraged to apply for the competition. Winning businesses will be provided with up to $100,000 in business grants, plus support to help them implement and scale their business plan. The YouthAdapt Challenge is organized in accordance with the ‘Empowering Youths with Jobs and Entrepreneurship’ aspect of the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program, an initiative of the AfDB and the Global Center for Adaptation.

The Path To Winning The Challenge

Applications for the YouthAdapt Challenge will remain open until Wednesday, October 6. Following the close of applications, entries will be examined, and twenty finalists will be selected. These businesses will be required to submit videos that will be reviewed by a jury panel. The finals and award ceremony will take place at COP26 in Glasgow, on November 8, 2021; the trip to the event will be fully funded.
