Nigeria Association of the Blind (Lagos State Chapter) in conjunction with Nikki Laoye’s Angel For Life Foundation are organizing the Lagos Edition of the INTERNATIONAL WHITE CANE DAY, theme, “OUR MARK OF INDEPENDENCE”, on the 15th of October 2012, to raise awareness and advocate for visually impaired people. The awareness campaign will include a walk by the blind and for the blind from The Palms Shopping Mall in VI, to the King’s College Annex.
A minimum of 5000 WHITE CANES need to be bought for free distribution to aid visually impaired people within Lagos State and also raise funds to support the needs and IT development projects being carried out by the Nigeria Association of the Blind (Lagos Chapter) for easy integration of their members back into the society.
YOUR SUPPORT FOR IWCD 2012 IS NEEDED.
On behalf of the Nigeria Association of the Blind (Lagos State Chapter), The Angel of Life Foundation hereby request for your financial support in procuring the White Canes and ensuring the success of this significant initiative which creates an additional platform towards making everyday life more bearable for the visually impaired in our community.
