There are basic ways to maintain and polish your jewelry in order to make them last for as long as possible while still being wearable and attractive. In addition to polishing them, here are some things to do to both maintain them and your health too.
1. Do not wear them to sleep: There is a reason why it is advised that all jewelry should be removed before sleeping. If you wear your jewelry to bed, they might cut or break, and most importantly, they could injure you. Also, sweat and jewelry do not get along as sweat corrodes jewelry very easily if exposed to it for a long time.
2. (As much as possible) Do not lend them to other people: Although ladies like borrowing stuff from each other, jewelry should not be among things that are shared. You may want to consider the type of jewelry you want to lend out and whom you want to lend your jewelry to. If the person reacts to certain metals, there they may have slight sores which make it easier for jewelry to carry germs easily and as such may cause infections. Your jewelry should be your personal stuff in order to protect yourself.
3. Do not expose them to moisture: If you need to take your bath or go for a quick swim, it is important to remove all jewelry to protect them from corroding easily. When storing them, ensure that the environment in which they are kept is clean and free of moisture.
