Osaze Odemwingie replaced in-form striker, Romelu Lukaku in the second half of West Brom’s win over the newly crowned Capital One Champions.
His introduction irked the Home fans and they booed his every touch. It is evident that the Albion fans are yet to forgive Osaze for his melodrama on transfer deadline day.
QPR 3-1 SUNDERLAND
Nedum Onuoha was again left on Ranger’s bench by coach, Harry Redknapp for the tie against Sunderland.
Andros Townsend produced a man-of-the match performance to help Rangers record their first back-to-back win in the league since they were promoted in 2011
READING 1-2 ASTON VILLA
Hope Akpan was taken off for Gareth McCleary in the second half of Reading’s game against fellow relegation battlers, Aston Villa.
His substitution didn’t go down well with the crowd who felt he didn’t deserve to be pulled out of the game.
NEWCASTLE 2-1 STOKE CITY
Shola Ameobi missed his side’s victory against Tony Pulis men. His team recorded another victory as they struggle to climb up the premier league table.
FA CUP:EVERTON 0-3 WIGAN
Victor Anichebe replaced captain, Phil Neville at half time but couldn’t do anything to prevent his team from crashing out of the FA Cup.
Everton had conceded three first half goals in quick succession. Maynor Figeuroa, Callum McManaman and Jordi Gomez put the game to bed in 6 minutes to secure a semi-final date with the winner between Milwall and Blackburn Rovers.
MANCHESTER CITY 5-0 BARNSLEY
Kevin Etuhu was in Barnsley’s starting line-up that battled the reigning EPL champions. Carlos Tevez was on top of his game and went home with the match ball after grabbing a delightful hat-trick. David Silva and Aleksandr Kolarov completed a 5-nil rout for City.
MANCHESTER UNITED 2-2 CHELSEA
Victor Moses started the game but was withdrawn in the second half for Belgian whizkid, Eden Hazard while John Mikel Obi was a second half substitute for Frank Lampard. Chelsea came back from two goals down to secure a replay at Stamford Bridge. The winner of this tie will face Manchester City in the semi-finals at Wembley in April.
MILLWALL 0-0 BLACKBURN ROVERS
Danny Shittu marshalled Millwall’s defence in their stalemate against a Blackburn Rovers side without Dickson Etuhu.
The replay will soon be arranged, and the winner will face Wigan in the semi-finals.
