Video Of The Week: Ganduje Secures Kano Metropolis With CCTV

Although Kano State has earned the reputation of being the most peaceful state among the northern states in Nigeria, Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of the state has recently made great strides to ensure security in the state.

Salihu Tanko Yakasai, Special Adviser to the governor on media, recently announced that Kano State Government has captured and secured Kano metropolis on Closed-circuit television (CCTV). A post on his Facebook timeline read: “Despite Kano being the most peaceful State in Nigeria for the last 5yrs (Alhamdulillah), H.E Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR is not relenting in his effort to further secure the state.”

While Kano State is not “the most peaceful state in Nigeria” by any stretch – it is the most peaceful among the Northern States – the installation of CCTV cameras in the city metropolis is indeed laudable.
