World’s fastest athlete, Usain Bolt, has said he plans to retire after the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He stated at a press conference prior to his final race this season in the 100 meters sprint at Friday’s Van Damme Memorial that he “wants to win more gold in Rio, set another world record in the 200 meters next year, and perhaps win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.”
“So far, it’s after the Olympics in Rio. I think if I am in great shape, I’ll go there and do what I have to do. I think it will be a good time to retire on top. If I want to be among the greats of (Muhammad) Ali and Pele and all these guys, I have to continue dominating until I retire,” Bolt said.
Bolt won gold medals at the London and Beijing Olympics in 2012 and 2008 respectively, in 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. He also won gold at the World’s Athletics Championship in Moscow in August.
Hollywood actor, Samuel L. Jackson has revealed that producers of new movie, The Secret Service, hope to get Usain Bolt to star in it. The movie, directed by Matthew Vaughn, is expected to be released in November 2014 and will also feature English soccer star, David Beckham.
