Tyson Fury Calls Out Joshua

British boxer and former unified WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO title holder, Tyson Fury, has expressed his displeasure at fellow countryman, Anthony Joshua, for not completing his negotiations to fight American  heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.

Joshua, who holds three of four major world heavyweight titles – World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO)and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles – failed to reach an agreement with Wilder’s team after long weeks of deliberations. Consequently, the champion was issued a 24-hour ultimatum to sign to fight Alexander Povetkin or risk being stripped of a portion of his world heavyweight title. Fury is unhappy that Joshua passed up a chance to prove his boxing dominance in the United States by beating Wilder to claim his WBC title, and will now have to face Povetkin on September 22.
“I think it’s such a sad time for heavyweight boxing because you’ve got the so-called super champion and golden boy, Anthony Joshua, and he is avoiding Deontay Wilder and will not fight him at any cost. “If you’re not going to fight someone for £40 million, you’re not going to fight him for anything. It’s a disgrace and he’s a disgrace to boxing. “And I think it needs somebody good enough to step up and take on the challenges and not be afraid – not be afraid to take risks and go to people’s backyards and do it.” — Fury (in a video he shared on twitter)
