Nigerian male U23 team landed in Egyptian capital, Cairo, on the evening of Thursday, October 31, 2019 ahead of the 2019 AFCON U23 tournament slated to hold in the North African country from November 8, 2019 – 22nd November 2019.
The Olympic Eagles comprised of 13 players and nine officials touched down at the Cairo International Airport before leaving for the city of Ismaila about 128km away from the country’s capital.
Meanwhile, England-based forward, Bright Enobakhare, and Nest Sotra of Norway defender, Anthony Izuchukwu, teamed up with the team at their Mercure Hotel camp (the same place the Super Eagles were lodged during their AFCON outing earlier this year). The coach Imama Amapakabo tutored side is expected to immediately commence preparations for the tournament which kicks off in less than 8 days.
Journey to Tokyo 2020
Nigeria will be seeking to book their ticket for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan with a top-three finish in the tournament.
