The interesting thing about this sugar is that most of us see it as a superfine packaged item that we can only buy in baking stores and supermarkets. That’s why we run off to the store every time we are out of supply. Well, the good news that I bring today is that icing sugar can be made at home with two familiar ingredients. If you are happy to hear that, then, you’ll be ecstatic to learn that icing sugar can be made in two quick and easy steps. That said, icing sugar can be made with either granulated sugar or caster sugar. In fact, the more coarse the sugar used, the more evenly the icing sugar would blend. Corn flour, the second ingredient used in making icing sugar is what prevents it from clumping.

Ingredients

500g of Granulated Sugar 2 Tablespoons of Corn Flour

How To Prepare

Place the granulated sugar and the cornflour into a dry mill blender, coffee grinder or spice grinder. Then, blend, check, blend. By this, I mean that you should run your fingers through the content of the blender from time to time. If it’s gritty, keep blending till it’s smooth. Just like that, your icing sugar is ready to use. When you’ve taken what you need, store the leftover in an airtight container. Sources: Farm Drop Featured Image Source: Bigger Bolder Baking
